A few pics from today

So today I went to the parks and had a great time taking pictures.. I started at the Poly then hit the Grand then the Kingdom then Epcot Ended up with 100+ choices for pictures of the day so had to show a few more off... Some of the really neat ones will make their way into 365 ;)

Hard to believe I've made it to 100 posts.. Guess I either have a lot to say or just like to ramble... Alas I think this calls for fireworks

I so give up... So 2 days ago when I was setting down my DSLR the strap broke and the camera fell about 7 inches and apparently broke the aperture lever/piece (durability doesnt seem to a strong point) So today I took it in to see how much itd cost... The first place I stopped recommended emailing Nikon (after diagnosing the problem for free- now a huge fan of them) The second place said they could fix it for 225... I heard back from Nikon and they said they could fix it for about 130- MUCH cheaper than the local place...

sigh- and I thought Id be saving money on this- soo glad I also have the Canon as it may be awhile before I can get the Nikon fixed.

I am *so* bubble wrapping it from now on

Delay tactic

since I *really* dont want to deal with the dead bug in my kitchen and am using the delay tactic...

I also realize I need to go to the zoo again- its almost been a year...

Amazingly

We didn't get yelled at today- Dunno how THAT happened but its fine by me... Today we got to melt lots of ice as we had to empty the (full) ice machines to sterilize them after the "incident" last night with a grease trap exploding... It was actually not bad as it "carved" nicely with water so I had a mini southern utah/arches thing going for awhile and Im glad it wasnt me who had to climb inside to clean the machines (yes they are HUGE but still)

So I did it-

I applied for a transfer today- now the wait to see how long itll take and where I'll end up.. Is it sad that I chose places by the fact they wear pants? Most places I have worked a shift or two so am familiar with the area...

I will be sad to leave some of the people- but hope to leave the rest of the stuff behind...

My house is nekkid

without the christmas tree and other stuff (YES I finally took everything down..) Course since I re-did my pins after I put Christmas up- I have a very nekkid wall that needs *something* Grrr

Magical... So this was the only thing I found at the kingdom to show its a new celebration (I did see a bunch of buttons though) apparently they went cheap or late as its almost the end of the month...

I'm officially tired of my work location and as soon as I figure out 2 other places to add to the list of places I want to work Ill be putting in a transfer (didn't know I had to be so specific) I am just so tired of being one of the two that is constantly micro managed despite doing what I am supposed to *be* doing- just not announcing every step of the way WHAT I am doing... and quite frankly I do NOT want to become a coffee server- We have a team called Coffee breaks why do I NEED to be the one to do it?

Its all about the rings...

So its only taken 2.5 years to find a decent frozen onion ring and of *course* they were limited time only so I had to stock up... One can only hope they'll be back before I run out...

Nekkid Trees

So I wish I knew why the trees were suddenly nekkid.. They look so odd now... Course there was a lot today at the Studios that left me wondering (and some not in a good way :( )

It makes you wonder

So today I went with my friend Ignez to lunch at one of her favorite places- The NY Chinese Buffet on 535- Yes its a place I normally wouldnt have step foot but its actually really good... and like always I got flack from her for eating white rice on how its too plain and has no flavor, Course I always ask why she gets french fries at the chinese place so its all fair... I think she actually seems to skip ALL the chinese food and ends up with the chicken wings and fries- go figure... Course I'd be happy with just the cheese filled mushrooms so who am I to talk...

2 more will be off the list..

So I was introduced to Movie Rewards and I found that they had 2 of the movies that are still on my list of "need to see" from my project of seeing the first 150 disney movies.. So I dug through all my DVDs and registered all those points.. I came up 125 short and was figuring out how to get those points cheap- Well actually reading the site I found ways to get those points FREE! So in a short 6 to 8 weeks Ill have 2 more off the list.. 2 down 6 to go..

Now if I could just find: Smith!, Perri, Wild Country, Scandalous John, Run Cougar Run, and Best of True Life Adventures I'd be set!

What a weird weird day

So today started with a *very* vivid nightmare that included having all my teeth fall out (weird I know) but it was SOO vivid for the first few hours I kept checking to make sure they were all there... and YES I brush..

Then we found out that maybe the sign "costumed cast only beyond this point" was put there for a reason when we had an almost nekkid man in a hospital gown in the back hallway... (he was part of a demo in a class.. but STILL)

Then once again it was a day of double takes as the group in house deals with VERY lifelike medical dolls including ones that move, breathe etc... So seeing one covered with a sheet wheeled on a stretcher and or being pushed in a wheelchair becomes commonplace..

and its sad when they make more selling alchocol than they do lunch (but in defense the liquor is more acceptable price than lunch- I understand catering prices but I would have to be REALLY deperate to pay 4 bucks for a 12 oz can of soda- or 10 bucks for a burger and pretzles...)

Two is always better than one...

So its crazy how sometimes things happen... Last night I was going through the crazy justification over what camera to get, realizing that with the DSLR I wanted, what I could afford was gray market and not authorized and I couldnt afford authorized... So I finally decided to just get the Canon Powershot and ordered from Amazon.. Well a few hours later I was playing around on craigslist and found the exact camera I wanted for a GREAT deal (250 bucks!) so I emailed and got a great response back to which I decided to splurge figuring that for that cost I could deal with issues if need be.. Apparently Amazon is working overtime as when I went to cancel my order already shipped.. Then I realized that even with both I was still under what I planned on spending for the DSLR.. I went and picked up the DSLR today and its in PERFECT shape and has been very well cared for. It takes beautiful pictures (well atleast of the stuff around the house..) and I think I was very lucky...

Tomorrow I'll get the Canon and get to spend all night playing with my new toys :)

Today

So today I worked at DTD for the first time ever and actually had an interesting day- I got to see how to make shirts at the new design your own shirt place and how they make the custom ears... Educational.. After I walked over to see the club for the first time since it closed.. Its kinda sad now :( seeing the chains up and some of the outside stuff gone..

What is it with January and Cameras?

Its been almost 2 years to the day my last camera died and today my shutter button popped off and so Im having to use Toothpicks to take pictures (Yeah thatll work when I need to take more than one..) I cant decide to go cheap and or go DSLR...

Decisions!

Sigh

I am so frustrated by work and the fact that despite doing more of the work I am now a "3rd class passenger" in my department along with the other been there forever kid. No matter WHAT we do (and it usually is the lion's share) is not near good enough against the half *&% effort the 3rd puts in who has become the poster boy of the department. He can do no wrong and what he says goes, with none of the rest of us having a comment. I am giving it two weeks and then putting in for a transfer if it doesnt get better. I am not working my *&% off to have him take the credit.

Tired..

So the irony that I was only scheduled for 32 hrs (worked out to 48 with my F! shift on the 31 and holiday pay) I ended the week with a total of almost 55 hrs after getting over 6 hrs yesterday.. Most of the details are on the 365 page so I won't repeat.. Today I am sore and tired but I think it was worth it.. Todays goal is clean out the car- exciting...

So is it a bad thing when..

It's 9:30 at night and I still have yet to get dressed for day and have not done ANYTHING productive?
